Hi, I found this on the TaoBums today. It is a 4 hour video by Daniel Ingram. In it (after the first 40 minutes or so) he outlines the various stages that one goes through while meditating.
I found these videos very interesting and helpful because he candidly describes the various stages (and jhanas) all the way up to Stream Entry.
In Daniel's lingo, I now realize that I have experienced the Arising and Passing many times. I have experienced the Dissolution a few times, I know exactly what it is and yes, I shouldn't have stopped at that point when I hit them. I have also experienced the Stream Entry once, and the super mind. It is so nice to hear someone describe it as having some meaning and value.
I just finished reading Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha a couple of days ago. I'm still trying to digest it all and will probably have to read it through a few more times, but I felt like he did an excellent job of describing and laying out the stages of enlightenment. According to Theravada Buddhism, that is. Thanks for the links. I'm really interested in hearing what he has to say in person.
