This should have been the first thing I posted in this folder. But better late than never. The question is this, "How do we properly use supposed "Jnana" (wisdom, true knowledge of the One)"? Or is it just half-inspired bullsh*t? Or all bullsh*t? Is it just better to ignore this kind of stuff?

Whether the words come from the mouth of the Buddha, or from your neighbor Fred, the answer is identical.

Anything that can be expressed in words, regarding spiritual matters, is wrong.

This is the reason that the "See the Moon, not the finger pointing at the Moon" concept is repeated more frequently than almost anything.

The way to properly use Jnana, philosophy, or any rational thought is identical. If the mere hearing of the words makes love leap for joy within you, or at the very least causes an "ah ha!" or a lightening of your burden.. then provisionally the thought may be of value. Then what? Put it before your inner guru, and don't ask for a quick response.. let the process churn away as long as it takes. If the inner guru finds the material of value.. then consider using it, as a finger pointing at the moon for others.

HOWEVER.

If you choose to do this, then always remember, that nothing that can be stated is true. At best it is a pointing. Anything which causes you to stumble is to be avoided. Such thoughts are but tools, to be dropped like a hot rock at will.

HOWEVER.

Sometimes people get stuck in rut. A lifetime of meditation; a lifetime of listening to the inner guru might not not do the trick. Words of Jnana are often required to get us out of a rut. This is one of the things, that an advanced friend, mentor or guru might be able to do for us.

Our goal is to be steady in the unconditioned mind, or simply mind. Do not hold ANY "truth" in your outer consciousness. It is fine, to have a huge collection of teaching tools rolling around in your preconscious mind, IF they have all been vetted by the inner guru. But obsess about nothing. Be as simple children, who play in a puddle. Love and Oneness are the only truths, that ultimately are worth a damn for anything.

I love you,

Kevin Cann
