Not sure if this goes here or in the health section. This is just for analysis to see what insight in can add to SBP and why, IMO, its important to be easy with it (not over/under breathing). Traditional yoga may be inducing mystical "effects" by hypoventilation , but hyperventilation is also dangerous. The body is the work of billions of years of fine-tuning by nature.

Hi,
A student of mine 'cured' his chronic asthma by simply breathing as one does in meditation, through the nose and diaphragm.It gave him instant results and he has not needed his two inhalers in 2 yrs.

You have to take it easy with SB not because of over-breathing effects, but because of the spiritual effect of tracing the spinal nerve. Some people are sensitive and others are not. But you can overdo it without knowing it. Then it can have emotional consequences later that you might not connect to the SB practice.
