I've been feeling quite spaced out lately and often have things going on at the crown, I can't be more specific I don't know how to describe it, but it isn't tingling sensations. I find that my thought process has become extremely refined but i'm sorry I lack the yogic terminology to define it.
I feel really in my head, like i'm not really here.
Now I don't have a specific sadhana, I usually practise some asana and ocassionally pranayama.
I suppose that i am following an Integral Sadhana ala Aurobindo. I am not doing specifics but I am surrendered to God and my life is totally directed in a spiritual direction, i have completely lost interest in the mundane, which I can still carry out but I feel like I'm an imposter.
I have a lot of 'aftermath', a deep feeling of oneness and connection and some small samadhis here and there which mostly happen when I go to bed and am in a semi-conscious state. I had a very deep meditation 2 years ago (which i discussed in another post).
So, i'm just seeking clarification if anyone has had similar experience of this spaceiness - what did you do? Is it an issue with grounding, should I be doing some more specific practise?
Thanks! |

The spaciness is definitely because you need grounding. Go for walks, exercise, eat heavier for a few days and get into a structured practice.
I would highly recommend you read a few key lessons here: http://www.aypsite.org/10.html http://www.aypsite.org/12.html http://www.aypsite.org/13.html http://www.aypsite.org/38.html http://www.aypsite.org/41.html
Being in a structured practice will help you not get overloaded (spaciness is one of the symptoms of overload), and if there is a feeling of being overloaded, you can self pace, adjust your practice so that the overload can pass without too much discomfort.
The spiritual path is a partnership between us and the divine (whatever form of the divine we may believe in) and not a path where we get to play the victim of forces beyond us. A structured practice and key concepts like self pacing, grounding helps us work with the divine and helps the divine express itself through us.
I hope this helps.
Wish you all the best in your chosen path. |

hey - in addition to what Shanti said, I recently experienced similar stuff, have you tried the solar centering of the mantra? I found this to be far more grounding, stopping the pressure in my head, and make me feel much more in touch with reality.
http://www.aypsite.org/368.html - solar centering.
Yogani does recommend you only do this when your practise is stable and you've been in the routine for several months. |
