Yogam' is yoga in Tamil. It also means one who is lucky in all areas of life- career, family, health & all facets of our human realities, especially being divinely aligned. From our Siddhar perspective, "yogam" is the sacred grace we receive through our daily inner journey. Yogam could also mean the fruits of our yoga practice. It is a well known fact that yoga (hatha yoga) enables better health, mental calm, clearer thinking and the grand realities which spring from all the goodness of yoga. From the bland medical perspective of yoga (hatha yoga) it is also a good exercise. However, the Siddhars see yoga as the grace and effort which transforms us to be angelic on subtle and gross terms along with the realities we unfold. Kalangi Yoga, the yoga of the Siddhar Sages, states that the yogam is attained through a few powerful insights while doing daily yoga. These insights apply to any inner/Source connected activity you might do, like Tai Chi, or simple meditation. Adopt a simple sequence that enables you to practice yoga daily, by yourself: Having a yoga teacher to teach you is important, and as equally as important is the ability to create a space for your own individual inner journey. This sequence could ideally be Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) or any sequence you are comfortable with. This helps you accomplish a daily routine (and not count on having a yoga studio as an excuse to not doing our daily yoga!) A daily routine is important as we tune into each day with a clearer mind that is tuned within with an inner journey of discovery and expansion. Practice yoga with love, as though you are giving yourself a massage: Yoga is not necessarily all about the incredible flexibility and strength. Enter into your daily yoga at your own pace, delving into each posture (asana) with awareness of the peace within the breath. Utilize your daily yoga to set the pranic energy moving through you to heal and rejuvenate you. Your joys and bliss of yoga will naturally enable flexibility, strength and a healthy body. Effortless effort is the key. Yoga is Tantra: Begin your yoga by alighting your inner lamp invoking the Lord of the Journey, Ganesh. Tantra means weaving the Muladhara/root chakra (the sensual, the sensory and physical reality) with your third eye (the Spirit). Awakening the root chakra - the inner lamp within awakens the fire of Kundalini - the blessings of Source from the root chakra makes all aspects of human realities such as love, family, career, financial abundance, health and wellbeing possible. Through the day, keep the lamp lit to be the yogi. Within each posture is an inner posture and its meaning: When doing yoga, as we enter into a posture, there is a unique potent energy we tap into that is wisdom and the experience. Knowing the potency of each posture's specific energy, wisdom and working alongside with breath provides us the blessings of that reality. For instance the Hastapaadasana, the standing forward bend pose is mastery over death. By tapping into the energy facet of each pose, we amplify that reality in our life as in healing, way of thinking or as in our inner realization. Invoke the Divine Presence: Invoke the Gurus through your yoga: Our inner journey through yoga is much like a cosmic monkey jumping from branch to branch of our consciousness. Divine guidance and grace is crucial. Invoke the presence of our Gurus who become a part of our awareness as the subdued mind and breath to be the doer of your yoga. Imagine having Babaji or Christ do yoga with you! Guru Kadaksham is the empowering grace of the Gurus that transforms a mundane mind to that of a genius. Utilize empowered simple mantras: Utilize AUM. Utilize the breath to be the Breathless Bliss: Yoga is true exclusively when we do it as a pilgrimage, a journey towards the inner shrine. Simple mantras (that do not take more than 1/3rd of your breath) is extremely important to not only transform each breath to harmony and knowing but also a protected, injury free yoga. If this is not possible, reciting AUM at the end of each process of a sequence helps coming back into the center. This center which houses harmony and peace is that which feeds the pranic energies of rejuvenation, mental clarity and wellbeing. Utilize the Sun and the Moon breath consciously as you do your yoga: The balance of breath is good health and a harmonious mind capable of producing intelligent thoughts. To ride through the left and the right breath with awareness through each posture leads to deepening of the inner experience of being bliss and swim along with the pranic currents. Master breath and be the master beyond life, death the Spirit. We are Matter, Time and Space: Our Body is Matter. Our mind is Time. Our Spirit is Space. Be One and allow Source grace to be your realities: When doing yoga, penetrate each sheath as peels of an onion, each sheath being a layer of consciousness. First the body consciousness, then the thoughts of each level of awareness and finally, be the ever expanding universal Being. Stepping into the timeless awareness that vibrates through our body and realities as cosmic union 24/7 is our yoga!
When Source grace penetrates from inside: When our intellect dissolves, we become as one with wisdom. When the body consciousness dissolves, we are the beings of Light. Know yogam to be the journey towards Light that can only be goodness, compassion, love, tolerance and joy. If and when I envoke divine presence, how do I know it is not draining to them?

divine sage, gratitude!
the divine presence as source, different facets of source, the guru etc can all be equated to a higher power that as love is inexhaustible.
my guru, siddhar rajaswamy would mention- 'you need to meet a guru just once in the physical to connect. there after, invoke that guru to you in your meditation and yoga. if you keep going to your guru to meet in the physical, you are disturbing his/her tapas.'
in our spiritual journey, to find form of a higher energy in the physical does help. source as in any name helps. it is important in our yoga to tune into this higher energy that enables us to recognize our own soul as the holy ghost and this is yogic grace, where the inner guru awakens.
