i am looking for pictures and the name, possibly detailled instructions for a specific sitting posture. it recently 'happened' to me in my meditations, and i do remember having seen it before, years ago. i think it was in stone reliefs on temple walls, not sure on this.
it is a simple sitting posture, similar to lotus but with the toes strongly flexed, rather then streched. the inner thighs press against the soles of the feet, with the flexed toes resting on the ground, the heels pointing upward. sometimes it came up just like this, sometimes with a mudra as if drinking with from hands, with the ellbows exherting pressure against the ribcage.
any hints will be greatly appreciated!
thanks, georg |

thank you, dave. yes, from the description and the picture the posture i am looking for seems like a cross between the two you mentioned, but more like mulabandhasana, for it is a quiet sitting posture. i still wish i would come across a picture or relief from a temple wall that shows the very one i search. but thanks anyways! |
