Hi,
Its been some days since i am experiencing lot of yawning (after this yawning it feels better) and intense pressure in neck. It feels like someone is strangling my neck and as a result the neck moves downwards or sometimes upwards with lot of force which i am not able to control.
Also i have been feeling pretty tired of late. I am not doing anything to feel tired but still i feel extremely tired sometimes and then i am kind of forced to sleep for 10-15 minutes and then i feel refreshed.
Are these symptoms common in kundalini awakening? What can be done to reduce this discomfort?
Thanks in advance. |

Hi Shrinath, Welcome to the AYP forums.
In the other topic you said you were practicing kriya yoga. So you practice spinal breathing right? Do you practice any form of meditation?
I am not sure of what the kriya routine is, however it will help if you cut back on some of your practices, what we call self pacing here at AYP. What you are experiencing is automatic yoga: Lesson 183 - Q&A – Movements and automatic yoga.
I would suggest doing some grounding exercises and some self pacing. Also, the chin pump may help with the excess energy you feel around the neck.
Wish you all the best in your chosen path. |

Thanks Shanti. Yes, i am into KY and also do spinal breathing and meditation. I used to do the meditation for an hour in the morning and hour in the night. But recently, i haven't been doing it to self pace. Despite that i can feel the above symptoms. |

Well try the chin pump and see. It has helped many. Also read the lesson I quoted above on Automatic movement.
Get a neck/back massage, that may help too. There is some constriction around the neck area (most people are blocked around here), so the chin pump, massage, chiropractic adjustment, reiki, could help.
During spinal breathing, consciously open the throat area during the inhale and constrict it (ujjai) during the exhale.
Hopefully something here will help.
