Hi All,
In Yogani's Lessons, for Sambhavi Mudra, he says it is enough to just raise our closed eyes a little with just the intent to "furrow" the brow to get the eyes to focus on the point between the eyebrows(words to this effect).Other teachers(Yogananda) say to just focus on the "bhru-madhya", or between the eyebrows. Still others say we must raise the eyes to its maximum extent and actually look "cross-eyed'.
If we look at some pictures of sages in meditation, many of them with eyes partially open,(Mahavatar Babaji, for instance), we see them with eyes raised to a level much higher than to the point between the eyebrows. I find however, that if I raise the closed eyes to the maximum extent possible without undue strain, the effect is greatest.
I would like to hear other practitioners opinion, and perhaps, Yogani's comments.
Similarly, in Moolabandha or in Ashwini Mudra, must we pull the sphincters fully up, or is it enough to pull them up just a little?

One usually begins with the full physical squeeze; then later it becomes effortless and just follows the intention. Note: the power of intention and be mindful.

Hi after a while you will feel a pleasurable sensation at the brow or the root when you perform either Mulabandha or Sambhavi mudra,
The correct amount of pressure is at that point where you feel the sensation, very soon this will need hardly any pressure at all. You WILL get to this point |
