Fantastic!

Heraclitus - what an amazing bloke. Preceded Abhinavagupta by a good 1500 years in formulating the precepts of Kashmir Shaivism... Or so it seems to me, not being very conversant with either of them. But you could, perhaps, make a case that Heraclitus' Logos is equivalent to Vak or maybe Spanda.

Cheers, divinefurball!

Hi grihastha, just a couple more today, this poor typist is about done!

"It is one and the same thing to be living and dead, awake or asleep, young, or old. The former aspect in each case becomes the latter, and the latter becomes the former, by sudden unexpected reversal."

"The name of the bow is life, but its work is death."

"The hidden harmony is better than the obvious.

People do not understand how that which is at varience with itself agrees with itself. There is a harmony in the bending back, as in the case of the bow and the lyre."

"Listening not to me, but to the Logos, it is wise to aknowledge that all things are one."

"Wisdom is one and unique; it is willing, and yet unwilling to be called by the name of Zeus"

P.S.: Zeus is my cats name (willing and yet unwilling to be called) - the "real" divine fur ball.

Thou Art Cat, dfb
