Hi All
Whilst meditating, I often feel strong pressure on top of my left nostril, just under (or next to) the left eye. Does this correspond to activation of chakras, if so, which one? I've heard of third eye chakra, but this one is NOT between eyebrows, the pressure I feel is in the weird place I mentioned.
Any idea what this could be?

Hi Alfa, I also feel the exact same thing. Pressure on the top of the left nostril and sometimes it itches. I have no idea what it is. My guess would be some energy is passing there because to me it only happens in meditation and Samyama. Never felt it while resting or in other activities.

Hi Alfa, Emil and Snake,
The ida nadi has it's top end in the left nostril. It goes up from there in an arc going under the left eye, down the left side of the face and down to the throat chakra where it crosses with the pingala nadi and heads towards the heart. It can feel like vibrations, or itching or (when it is highly active) the whole left side of the face lights up. The pingala nadi starts at the right nostril and does the same thing in the opposite direction. The two nadis form a double helix going down the body and ending at muladhara where they join sushumna.
All good stuff going on.

Thanks for asking and thanks Christi for the answer. I seem to have an active ida also then. My upper lip also is drawn up towards that point often...
Same point at the right nostril is particularly active at sunset - corresponding the male pingala with the male sun energies probably! |
