Hi,
When one starts sitting with the heel under the perineum does one continue to lift/pull up the anus with the intention or is that step dropped once one starts sitting on the heel? |

Hi Growant:
Yes, the two practices continue normally. Neither is a substitute for the other. In time they both become natural aspects of one thing.

siddhasana, the heel presses up agienst the urin tube, to exert a pressure making life force flow outwardly right? like pressing one end of the toothpast tube and toothpast comes out the other side. then you do pranayama in order to make life force vibrate si? |

Hi Avatar:
No, siddhasana as suggested in AYP is behind the urethra (urine tube), not mainly for compressing it, and the energy goes in and up, not out. In AYP we learn siddhasana first during spinal breathing pranayama, and yes, there is a relationship between siddhasana and spinal breathing in guiding the energy in and up, and back down, and back up again, purifying and opening the sushumna (spinal nerve) in the process. All of the mudras and bandhas are for that also.
See the lessons on "siddhasana" (near top of list) in the topic index: http://www.aypsite.org/TopicIndex.html

Ah, but it can stimulate outflowing life force. the force that makes the body vibrate. that tingling energy that can tense the muscles. This energy is great for opening channels in the body, and siddhasana, though stimulating out flowing life force, also works to drive it upwards.
IE horneyness being a product of outflowing life force, lol.
though who knows, thanx for the siddhasana links. |
