Just a hypothesis, but an interesting one given yogic theory on the relation between sound and the nervous system. The article says that science has assumed that nerve transmittion is done by electric signals but now some believe that the electricity is just a by product and that nerves transmit sound vibrations like sound travelling through a tube.
