Hi I've had part of my tongue frenulum removed with a laser and I've been practicing talabya kriya for a few weeks and it seems that my tongue is now long enough for stage 2 kechari, however the soft palate sort of retracts (if that makes sense) whenever the tongue goes near the uvula and it's not able to enter the nasal cavity.
So I'm thinking about practicing sutra neti as suggested on this website:
http://yoganirvana.com/mudras/
and described on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neti_(Hatha_Yoga)#Sutra_neti
Does anyone have experience with practicing sutra neti to achieve kechari? I've been getting warm sensations around the tip of my tongue, it's been getting stronger and I figure I'm ready to take my kechari practice to the next level!

Hello, in regards to the soft palate not cooperating, that is kinda the catch.. After getting your tongue up there a few times, it seems to stretch that part out and it will get easier and easier. This was also the part with the most discomfort. Doesn't hurt necessarily but is definitely uncomfortable. So at the beginning, that part is pretty tight. Not that this helps so much, but after you get that part looser, the tongue can go up and down with relative ease. Good luck, sounds like you are really close. |

I was able to achieve kechari stage 2 without sutra neti! I kept putting the tongue around the edge of the soft palate, the edge kind of broke and the tongue slipped onto the other side. It was kind of sour for a few days but now it's like normal and the tongue can stay there without any pain. Hopefully the "ecstatic" sensations will start to arise soon :] |
