Hi everyone, this is the first time that I post in this forum. I have some questions about khechari mudra! And i'll be very grateful for all your answers. I can reach every place in the nasal pharynx cavity, so I can put the tip of my tongue in the edge of the septum and when I do that, its feels very sensitive and make me sneeze, also I dont feel this pleasure or bliss, that I read everywhere, its more uncomfortable. So, is this natural? I have to get used to? Or its a purification process? Thanks for all your answers, and sorry for my english Im from Argentina :) |

Hi Sumeru
Yes, it sounds like it'll take some time to get used to. It took a while for me. Just do what is comfortable for now, baby steps, and in time you won't sneeze, or feel sore. It'll be sooner than you think.
Also Jala Neti (Nasal Wash) http://www.aypsite.org/313.html might be worth a try before doing kechari. This can make kechari more comfortable. Doing it with a bowl and taking the salt water up both nostrils at the same time is better. Although it takes a bit of courage at first!
All the best. |

Dear Sumeru,
Welcome to the AYP Forum.
The question that comes to my mind is what other practices are you doing? The ability to stick your tongue up your nasal pharynx will not bring much in terms purification /spiritual growth which leads to bliss and the pleasure you seek without other practices

Hello,
I've just discovered a way to help with the soreness. A few drops of olive oil on the tongue before you go into kechari helps.
After reading your post, I thought I would try kechari again after a few months off. The result was soreness, no matter how many times I tried over the weeks.
I had a weird idea... I typed 'olive kechari' into search and there is an old thread about it here:http://www.aypsite.org/forum/topic....live,kechari
How good is that?
Yogani, mentions it a bit lower down. Although, I wouldn't listen to his advice much... :) |
