Hi, I've been practicing AYP for few months- One twenty minutes meditation. Recently, I switched it two twice a day. Once early morning and the second in the afternoon. The first feels calming and peaceful. In the second sitting, I start getting restless in few minutes. I start checking the time every other minute. I don't feel peaceful as the morning routine. Should I stick to once a day? Second question- Is everyone wired for pranayam? I tried doing spinal breathing (only two rounds), I started getting headache right away. I also tried alternate nostril breathing (same issue with that).
Initially with AYP deep meditation, I would get headaches. I even increased the rest time. Then one day, I was having the same headache. Suddenly, I felt like the right and the left side of my brain adjusted, I even think I heard them click. What was that?
Thank You for answering my beginners questions

Hi Sunyata,
Everyone is wired for pranayama, but some people are more sensitive than others. And during certain stages in your path you will be more sensitive than during other stages.
It sounds like you are going through a sensitive stage. Getting headaches is not fun, so you need to self pace at the moment. If I were you I would stick with just one session a day, or if you do do a second sit, just practice meditation for 10 minutes or so and then rest for a few minutes.
There are energy channels connected to the left and right side of the body (ida and pingala) which end in the brain, and one of the effects of pranayama is to bring the energy flow in these channels into balance. Prana can make various sounds in the body when it begins to flow more powerfully. So it is nothing to worry about and a sign that good things are happening.

Thank You, Christi. Your answers have helped me a lot :). I'll try doing 10 mins for the afternoon/evening sitting. If you don't mind me asking- How long have you been meditating? You answers have so much clarity in them.
