I am new with this practice. I have meditating with IAM since beginning summer. I added spinal breathing, stopped for a bit and now i added it to my practice since about two weeks. I am not sure if it has anything to do with it. I have been going through some low periods instead of having feeling of joy all the time. Is is better to stop the spinal breathing or is it all part of the purification process? Thank you.
Cut back on meditation time and self pace. You can miss sessions if you want. Cut down to one session. You can even stop for a while. It becomes easier as you begin to notice what you are going through. Just experiment a bit and see what happens.
Be aware that feeling low isn't always about pure mental state. It's worth checking with your Doctor because low iron, thyroxin or other complications can be the cause.
Finally, remember. All work no play makes jack a dull boy. Make sure you are getting involved with life and grounding activities. Do excersise, take a Walk, fly a kite, go dancing. Anything to help integrate the spiritual work.
hello Narayani if you are feeling sad or irritated for no reason during daily normal activities then it is a sign that you need to self pace... go back to the stage where you were feeling good ie before your last additional practice.... meaning in yr case stop spinal breathing i know you are vegan...so Karl gave you good advice concerning checking your iron etc... plus in ayp you need to do non spiritual stuff to ground the energy produced by the powerful practices... check those threads:
