Spiritual enlightment, is not like for example one has slipped down and broken the hip bone, so one is not well, and is resting or laying down on the bed, and then when it gets nearer to the night, someone will come and put on the light for you...
Spiritual enlightment, is reaching a certain level of consciousness, where each one has to arrive by him/her self...
No body can do that for you, neither force you to it, if you yourself do not want it, whether cosnscioussly or unconscioussly...
Some genuine Master(Guru) can guide you, can instruct you, on how to tread that path, not only that, but actually accompany you, throughout, till the end of the road...which is very important in acheiving that particular goal.
