It recently dawned on me that 'The Wizard of Oz' is a perfect metaphor parallel to what we are doing here. She experiences a terrific upheaval, goes on a journey, meets up with three travelers along the way and engages in satsang, encounters some good people, does battle with some scary bad people including some monkeys bent on crusing their souls. They burn through mind numbing doubt, extreme highs, debilitating lows, abject fear and so on. In the end they come into contact with an old man who has control of all the levers whom they dismantle (the ego) and, in the end, all realize the answer was within all along. Is this perfect or what? No wonder I am still mesmerized by this tale and still watch it even at this advanced age. HOL

Good one!

And don't forget The Matrix and Groundhog Day. Two great films IMHO also with that deeper, spiritual subtext.

Be Well.

Joseph Campbell spent his life dissecting and comparing myths from all over the world and found that they were all pretty much the same myth.

You might be interested in his work. There are multiple video interviews out there on him, as well as plenty of books.
