Quote: "Attention paying attention to attention is attention." He further states, "Such attention paid to the Self, leads one to wisdom."
I've stumbled into this quotation while reading a book written by Sri Ganesan (Sri Ramana Grand nephew)

From Garland of Guru’s Sayings by Sri Muruganar ‘Is it not because you are yourself awareness, that you now perceive this universe? If you observe awareness steadily, this awareness itself as Guru will reveal the Truth.’ |

I've been pushed back to this practice today... It kind of happened automatically but It was the answer to a heart prayer asked from God |

Is this the four faces of Ananda or have you just resorted to talking to yourself ? |

Man this practice is soooooooooo powerful. I just practiced this today for a good 2 hours and it got me right back to the state of the center of awareness. The aftereffects of this are phenomenal, like natural caffeine and distances one true self from illusion mind stuff. |

I know bro but keep in mind that it's not always like this. Pretty much similar to DM but more self pacing... Never the less best watch out for overloading symptoms in case they appear... This is something worth keeping on an eye at whatever practice you're doing...

I hear you. The other day I switched into the Center about 3 times and couldnt sleep at night with all the energetic changes happening within. Its so extremely powerful. I'm trying to now figure out a way to rest in that center and slowly accustom myself to the high energy level, yet its almost like its too much to handle.... like the center of the Sun...
There are definite overload symptoms, so what I do is ground myself or jump back into mind identity or eat a big meal things that seem to do the trick. |

Dear,
If I may point out. The one who is trying to figure out is the obstacle, just welcome the attention and nothing more. Pretty much the same procedure as deep meditation. Also remember that there's only the seer and the seer and the seen are also the seer. Sound, thought, vision everything is happening at zero distance. I've noticed that once there's too much effort in this process then there's the feeling of a separate self located somewhere in the body. Just welcome everything in it's totality.
It's been two days over here now practicing this form, it's pretty much the same results I get from AYP DM but I can't help but say better and more stable... I might overload and I might not who knows...

what a coincidence! just now Francis Lucille in his webinar mentioned that when Ramana Maharshi was asked: should one be attentive on the i thought or on the i feeling? Ramana replied: the i feeling off course, self enquiry is more like feeling than like thought

This practice really is of great help and I am becoming more and more established in the peaceful inner silence and felicity. Apparently I don't need to self pace with this practice as well. I've been reading a lot of literature on Sri Ramana and his teachings lately and he's been pointing to this technique all along. Apparently so did Sri Nisargadhata Maharaj also.
A friend of mine is also doing it and is gaining even better results than I am from what I understood from him.
But we both have a good amount of AYP daily meditation on the clock under our belts and maybe this is why we are easily adjusting to the practice and getting good results...

Quoting Sri Ramanaji: The state of silent-I, behind the speaking #8215;I‘, is the greatest mantra. This I-state is the greatest mantra. Brahadaranyaka Upanishad says that the first name of God is #8215;I‘. #8215;Om‘ - the primal sound and vibration come into existence only after the #8215;I‘ thought. There is no japa at all without the doer of the japa. All do the japa of #8215;I‘ only. How many times we say I-I-I in our lives. All do japa of #8215;I‘ only. Be as you are. Reality, i.e., pure nonphysical awareness right now, is the real japa. Japa and God are one and the same. You are perfection. Abandon the idea of imperfection. There is nothing to be dropped. Ego is not a real thing, just as it is not necessary to kill the rope which one imagines is a snake. Also, there is no need to destroy the imaginary mind. Paying attention to the mind makes the mind benign and it disappears. Stability in the silent stillness of the Self is the real asana. Be steady in that real posture. |

Another quote from the same source: The human Gospel by Sri Ganesan and John Troy.
quote: You ask what book you should read. The Self is the real book; life, the written pages unfolding. You can glance anywhere in that book. Nobody will take that book away from you. Whenever you remember, turn toward the Self. This is true book reading. Keep your attention introverted and the mind still. That is enough. When the mind becomes still, the Self is self-evident. The Self is all pervading. If the mind is at peace, then one begins to experience the peace of Self. Gaze at your own nature. One is everywhere. It is all the same whether you keep your eyes open or shut during meditation. Turn within and meditate on the still I-ness, your true nature. Be as you are. The whole world is in the infinity of the formless you, not the other way around. Therein is all Truth and happiness. Worries do not belong to you. Dive into the silent source of the mind where worries simply cease to exist. Seek the Self and all misery will come to an end. Introvert your mind and turn inside out. You will then come to know that a Higher Power (Shakti, Holy Ghost) is functioning everywhere. Know that one seer, your Self, and all will be well. Just as the sun has never seen darkness, the Self has never seen ignorance. The Self is unknowable, but it can be experienced by direct perception. Intuition remains. The state of such experiencing is called Self-illumination. Whatever is to be in the future is to be understood as impermanent and Mystery. Learn to understand properly what you are now - what you have now - so that there will be no need of thinking about the future. Trust the Mystery.

I had a revelation today. Something that always happens but something I was unable to discern so far. When in deep meditation, my mind is actually trying to have a dialog with me. It is trying to reason out stuff cajoling me to respond and provoke me. Very of my mind |

Loll just ignore it and go back to the self... The same thing happens over here also it's just mind chattering... it can't live without conflict and having something to do. make it do watching awareness... at least this stick will burn out in the fire of awareness at the end also according to Sri Ramana....
Much love to you |
