Hello All, At present i am 40 years old. I still meditate daily and have been since i was 19. The first couple years of meditation were very calming and i got very centered within myself. I would mostly focus on my breath. After a few months one night i was concentrating on my breath and the rise and fall of my stomach and my mind reached a very peaceful no thought state. I tried to stay in this state but could only for about 30 seconds or so. This would happen a couple times a month or less but i never understood what it was. I would sometimes practice mindfullness too. Someone i talked to reffered to this as what maslow called peak experience. Im not sure though. This would happen the first couple years i began to practice basic zen meditation. Anyone ever experienced this?
