I think it will be helpful if we can post how long it took for each to reach your enlightenment milestones (e.g., Kundalini Awakening, Witness State, The Big E). Please mention any previous exposure to other systems as well.
A sample will look like this
Before AYP - 6 years hatha yoga background - 3 years Buddhist meditation practices
AYP & Milestones - Has been with AYP for past 6 years - Kundalini Awakening - happened before AYP - First experience of Witness - Jan 2006 - Witness 24/7 - Apr 2008 - First experience of awakening - Dec 2009 - The big E or Awakening 24/7 - Apr 2011
Everyone can post. Need not be advanced to post. I'll start with mine in the next post

Before AYP: No experience with other systems
AYP & Milestones: - Started in Jan 2005 but was on and off, so total would be 3 years - Started feeling kundalini buzz in spine - June 2005 - Started doing dedicated practices in Feb 2011 - Experienced some light kind of witness state in sleep on a solo-weekend retreat in April 2011 - No other milestones |

Hi Nearoanoke
Don't know if you have checked out the AYP Survey results lately, but you may be interested in browsing them... especially some of the comments. You can see the results here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/sr.aspx...9yDDr6AW4_3d
Love!

Hi Near and All:
Good questions.
Anyone who wishes to share may also like to take the AYP Survey, which covers similar questions, and more. Over 100 people have taken it so far.
Anyone interested in seeing the overall results of the survey can see them after taking the survey, or by clicking the link on the questionnaire to skip to the results page. The results reveal an interesting profile of AYP practitioners, as summarized a couple of weeks ago here (overall statistical results have not shifted much since then, going from 83 to 112 responses).
In addition to the statistical information on the results page, there are many comments from practitioners under the various questions. We are are a diverse group of people, coming from many backgrounds, and most of us interested in the same thing -- The fruition of human spiritual transformation in this life, whatever that is, and by whatever name it may be called.
The guru is in you.

Hi Carson:
We cross-posted on the survey. Better mentioned twice than not at all.
All the best!
The guru is in you.
