My old mentor GK, made a very astute observation.

He explained to me why the number 7 is so univerally a "mystical" number
in various traditions.

Starting in Predynastic Egypt, the royal astronomers were fixated upon the
"non moving stars". Since in ancient times, all gods were in fact stars,
this is the exaplanation for the importance of Astronomy and Astrology
to ancient cultures.

Well, there is a thing called the precession of the equinoxes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preces...he_equinoxes

In short, because the Earth wobbles, the star that is direclty overhead
"the pole star" changes over the 25,772 year cycle of wobble.

At present it is Polaris, but at other times it was one of 6 other stars.

Thus there are 7 potential pole stars according to the ancients.. and each
pole star is a "god" in this perspective. Thus one god "devours" another
during a cycle. This one understanding explains half of all ancient religion,
and many "mystical things".

So.. it gets even more exciting..

You know how Kundalini is said to be wrapped 3 1/2 times around Muladhara?

This is CODE. Unless you understand precession, the greatest secret of the
ancients, other than Kundalini, it makes no sense.

3 1/2 is one-half of a cycle of 7.

Cycles of 7 represent the whole of creation, from birth to death.

Kundalini is thus the middle principle, the fulcrum between upper
and lower.

Does this knowlege help your life? Perhaps not.

But it does demonstrate, that myth is based upon truth, if you go
back far enough.

There is nothing mystical.. nothing outside the genuine laws of
physics.

Everything makes sense, without gobbly gook.

I have not read his most famous book for many years.. I have 10
hardcopy special editions in my closet, one is signed. But it is
now avaialble in paperback.

Do I recommend his book? I can't say. It is not for everyone. However there
is interesting scholarly work in it.

yeah but not everything makes sense with the mind

myth is a way if explanation that bypasses intellect

so it is equally valid as a method for explaining truth
