hey. how common is/who has experienced purification taking place as sore throat, coughing, feeling clouded, lack of energy, headaches (i figure headaches are pretty common).
I've been sick since Tuesday last week. It began with an intense headache and being unable to move from my bed due to tiredness. The headaches have lasted and been intermittently occuring. I was better by Friday last week, but now every evening when I get tired, a sore throat and coughing arise.
I'll see a doctor if it persists, but I'm starting to wonder if it's purification rather than a real sickness. Mainly because I'll feel great during the day, and then only feel sick in the evening. It's kind of weird |

It's hard to say really, but I have definitely experienced illness where I was significant more sick at night than during the day. In fact, that is usually the case for me when I have the flu. |

Does this happen only after practices?
It may have something to do with the weather change. It is getting cold and dry and this can cause the sinuses to dry up causing headaches and sore throaty feeling. If possible run a humidifier in the house (esp. if you have started running the heat already). Also the change in temp between indoor and outdoor affects sinuses too. You know, hot indoors, the freezing outside, the back inside a warm car or train, then out in the cold, the back inside a warm office. So keep an eye on that and see if that may be a reason the the headaches and sore throat.
The tiredness may be caused by high energy. The full moon did not help So eat some heavy stuff and ground... that will definitely help if it's energy related. At times though tiredness is also season related. It getting dark so early, makes the body all confused. |

Hi - it doesn't exactly happen after practises, but seems to be correlated - the more ecstatic energy I'm feeling, the more sick I get in the evening.
I'm going to stop practise for a couple of days and see what happens, and eat some heavy stuff too! Thanks all. |

I would not recommend stopping all practices. Cutting back drastically yes, down to 5 min meditation, that's fine too. If you do stop all practices, sit for the scheduled practice time and just rest, but don't skip the time scheduled for practice.
Hope you feel better soon. |

Hi mr_anderson

Well - the ecstatic energy is itself purification. In my experience - whenever there is an increase in energy like that - all symptoms on all levels will be felt more acutely.
But - on the other hand - all symptoms are really the body's way of healing itself. It is not the symptom that is the disease. The symptoms are actually a result of the body's attempt to cure itself.
Some years ago - when the overloads were frequent here - I would often feel flu like symptoms....aching all over etc. And it would be worse in the evenings. But for some reason I never had headaches as a symptom of overload. Pressure in certain areas...yes. Pockets of "trapped space"...yes. But never headaches. Sometimes the top of the brainstem would be sore....and this soreness could go all the way out to between the eyes....following the "physicality" of the third eye.
If your symptoms lasts more than another day - go see a doctor. The extreme tiredness you are experiencing, and also the intermittency of the symptoms, and the length of this "acute".... indicates more than overload to me. I worked as a classical homeopath for 12 years....and your symptoms fit several of the acute remedies :) If it is viral...then taking a test to rule out Epstein Barr is good. Sometimes pneumonia can also give these symptoms. So don't tough it out too long....
You probably will feel better tomorrow though
All the best and speedy recovery
