Has anyone had trouble with sleeping too much or wanting to nap all the time?
when this first started occuring for me, I think it was depression with alot of changes like moving and losing my job, problems in relationship, then I felt that I had leveled out or adjusted to what is, then it showed up again. I would like to sleep alot and I look forward to shutting down with a nap or going to bed at night. I would like a nap right now, but get heat from people including my 8 year old son that all I do is sleep.
so, I am tired alot and like the time away from everthing and everyone. I am sometimes disappointed when I wake up with "my life again"
People say excercising is great and I have seen benefits to that. I have also taken more b12. It is a very humid climate and I don't use excerise as my savior.
does anyone have any tips.
I don't know if I am willing to do anything at the moment. other than to succumb to my wonderous nap- but maybe a suggestion could set a fire for me.
thanks in advance- sagebrush |

I usually feel that way after a workout, but have recently starting taking YogaEarth's Vitality (http://bit.ly/cnpyDh) and have noticed a boost in my energy level through out the rest of the day. |

thanks for the info yogalover. it looks as though this has to be ordered online...no big deal...but I am thinking where I live that it is not available in a store..even our healthiest one!
I chuckle thinking of Wal-Mart.
I appreciate the idea/advice and will try this product and get back with how I am feeling. I am surely in need of these good ingredients and am lacking for certain many nutrients.
how long you been taking them?

Hello Sage, I occasionally have periods of my life where I feel I am oversleeping. It may be connected to your diet?
I don't know, just a guess, what is your diet?
If you're not already familiar with recommended Sattvic food then there are a variety of resources on tinternet. Try and cut out all Tamasic food as it leads to inertia etc. Over eating is also said to be Tamasic.
Hope this helps

I had this trouble a while back. I saw even a sleep specialist long time back. He told that I have a circadian rhythm disorder. Meaning the internal clock inside my body is very sensitive and goes out of whack if I don't maintain a very strict sleeping patterns.
The only thing that helped, and is still helping is maintaining a strict routine of going to bed and waking up at around the same time every day. Including weekends, vacations, etc. I rarely compromise from this rule. And I take nap very rarely, once in may be several months, when I am totally exhausted. Avoiding naps and maintaining the discipline and the routine has helped me.
It is not easy to initially get into a sleeping routine and discipline like that. They sell these sun light lamps that help some people who get depression in the winter. That is something that helps people with sensitive circadian rhythm. For instance if my routine changes, I fall back into the oversleeping etc. (It does not happen a lot these days.) But, when it used to happen, I made use of that sun lamp. I think I bought it from Amazon for around $100. It is well worth the money. As soon as I wake up, if I sit in front of the lamp for 30 minutes for few days, the body's circadian gets adjusted back in my case. Then the routine follows automatically unless I break the routine due to circumstances. I don't break it a lot these days. I give priority to maintaining this routine over other things that seem important.
As long as this routine is in place, I do not face the trouble of wanting to sleep too much. I take cold showers in the morning, this wakes up and invigorates the body. Some other things to keep in mind are not to eat a heavy meal, or do severe workouts 2 to 3 hours before bed. Instead of eating 2 or 3 large meals a day, eating 4 or 5 smaller meals have also helped in my case. These things might help us stay alert during the day and get quality sleep at night. As long as we get quality sleep, we are not going to fell sleepy or tired all the time. This is just my experience. Hope it is of some help to you.
Also, go through the following link: http://www.mercola.com/article/sleep.htm. A good nights sleep normally helps me stay bright and awake during the day. Staying completely clear of caffeine or other stimulants might be a good idea.
Regards, Ram. |
