The moment I start doing the spinal breathing or any pranayama which I do with closed eyes, I kind of go into meditation automatically and then I stop that to do SB and then I would have issues in meditation like sometimes I would not be able to go deep.

Any suggestions on what is the suggested path during these times?

Hi SeekingShiva:

The procedure is to favor the practice we are doing when we realize we have gone off it. That can be done on a very subtle level, whether we are in spinal breathing or deep meditation practice.

It is common to "get lost" in spinal breathing or deep meditation practice, where we feel we have gone off somewhere into a deep sleep-like state. Sooner or later, we will realize we have gone off. Then we just ease back to the practice we are doing, without forcing or strain, for the time of our practice. If we force it, some of the difficulty you mentioned may happen in the aftermath. Just be very easy and gentle about it. Good things are happening.

All the best!

The guru is in you.
