figured I would share this, my experience, maybe it will be of assistance to someone. to be comfortable in meditation I have just sat in a chair most of the time. last night I used a meditation bench, some call it a chinesse meditation bench. these benches have a slight angle on them, around seven degrees, and most peaople use this to kneel down. So last night i sat on this lotus style, with my back up against the wall. I had the angle of the bench sloping with the higher end away from the wall and the lower end at the wall. this helped me maintain the posture, my legs were supported, and it still seems to help open the hips.
my we all be comfortable in meditation
