Namaste!
I have recently been to a retreat. In this retreat we (among other things) sang the gayatri mantra. Since I came home the text to that mantra is stuck. I sing it for myself now and then.
My question is....is this something the mind gets attached to and should I let it go except when I choose to sing it as an mantrameditation?

Namaste Metta,
Its like japa(mantra repeation) and you can sing it to yourself..there is no harm. Actually its good since your mind won't wonder and it will keep you in present moments.
Love and Light Viji |

I love the Gayatri Mantra. My understanding is that it is a mantra dedicated to the sun and a request for enlightenment. I often visualize it as divine light that clears the darkness and obstacles.
Best wishes. |
