My friend can be ruthless as well as funny but since he is so known to me, and since his care has always been evident, anything he may say or do or not do lands openly in heart And like this luckily escapes minds evaluation

At night came the sound of a vulnerable mandoline Fragile but strongly beautiful It graced the space of Dun Laoghaire and gently filled my heart with the naked courage of the one playing

His looks are so familiar that his form beautifully vanishes when we commune And so friendship is all there is
Imagine my surprise then, when through the sound of the mandoline I discovered that I am in love with him
