Ancient India made some rather significant contributions to spiritual science; mathematics, for one.

And all.

Am I saying ancient India made major contributions to mathematics?

Not exactly.

I'm actually saying that it now appears that ancient India made the rather major contribution of mathematics.

Video: Contributions of Vedic Mathematics, Spiritual Science; Mathematical Sutras.

Or, at least little details of mathematics, such as:

Zero, Infinity, Number Theory, Positional Place Value System, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Vedic Ritual Science, Vedic Mathematical Sutras, Logic, Musical Science, Sanskrit, and so on.

The Vedas contain the first evidence of mathematical science and geometry used in the service of religion (ritual, altar construction, mandala creation, etc.).

And the video doesn't mention this, but there's also the contribution of the quasi-mathematical, neuro-psycho-geometrical scientific discipline known as *Sanskrit*.

As In: there must be some reason that the 3rd International Symposium on Sanskrit and Computational Linguistics took place this year.

The more that's revealed about the ancient world, specifically ancient India, the less primitive they look ... and the more ridiculous and arrogant everything most of us were taught, looks.

Oh, and, by the way .... if anyone is interested in what Sanskrit sounds like (other than via mantras, chanting, etc.) -- here's a newcast from a couple of days ago.

Yep.

Couple of days ago (August 20, 2009).

I couldn't agree more Kirtanman.

There's a massive Hindu temple (Swaminarayan) in North London, with a great museum and exhibition, which shows just how far ahead of the West was Vedic civilisation, including in areas like surgery.

A number is an example of nama-rupa, a transient mental label given to an impermanent form.
