Hi sudo command,

Are you doing the IAM mantra meditation at this time? If so then I can say from experience that it is very powerful.. You might not feel the effects right away after starting a new practice. It can take some time (a week, two weeks, a month..) until the effects come. But doing the IAM meditation for even just 20 minutes, has effects over time.. It is better to take things slowly and see the results coming slowly but steadily over time than to break through

I think it might be OK to do a bit more on the weekends, but be careful that it is not too much. I think doing another session more might be OK (of course do anything you like, this is just a friendly suggestion..)

Wishing you all the best

Hi sudo command and welcome to the AYP forums!

I will echo Yonatan in saying that especially in the beginning when working with the AYP style Deep Meditation it is not advisable to overdo practices with extra long meditations. As Yonatan said there can be a delay in feeling the effects of an overdone practice. Personally it took me two whole months to realize that I had been overdoing my practices. It seriously took me two months to feel the energetic overload symptoms of overdoing my practices. And then I had to basically start again (after having to completely stop all practices for a while) with the basics (10-20 minutes of DM twice daily) after this happened. And it took me quite a while to get back to a point where I could again add Spinal Breathing Pranayam and the mudras and bandhas without getting overloaded. I still can't do samyama because of this and this happened somewhere between 7 and 9 months ago. Please learn from my mistakes and take it slow. Less is truly more with the AYP practices and it is always best to work your way into a lengthy sadhana. I would definitely recommend reading through these lessons here before getting into long DM session:
http://www.aypsite.org/38.html "What is your Timeline"
http://www.aypsite.org/69.html "Kundalini symptoms, imbalances, and remedies"
http://www.aypsite.org/81.html "Charging ahead too fast?"
http://www.aypsite.org/193.html "Extending practice time safely"

Hope this helps!

Love,
Carson

Yes,be careful sudo.AYP dm is really powerful over the long term.I think the practice you are talking about is really a lot.20 twice a day is the recomended limit.
Overloads are there when you dont self pace. They are very very unconfortable and can be there for weeks sometimes.take care.
