Nowadays I am going through a phase where after evening meditations, I will have no clue what happened while I was meditating.

I am currently doing stage two of Mantra.

When I am done I feel really zoomed out and do not feel that I have slept through but still I do not remember anything.

What is this?

It's another thing that can happen sometimes during deep meditation. I think you'll find that it's a phase that will pass.

It's probably mentioned somewhere in the lessons?

IMO, it is important not to lose mindfulness in meditation. If you feel like you are zoning out, then you need to tighten. I suggest opening your eyes and looking up slightly for a while until you feel more awake, then you can let the eyelids droop back...

Well, you're calling the right girl. Shanti is our resident AYP scholar.

I don't think it is the AYP Deep Meditation method to 'tighten up' or anything like that. I think this is just one of those things that you let pass.

Stay awake is all. If you drift off, open your eyes. Maybe even get up and walk around, do a hatha asana, do another round of pranayama. Kumbhaka is very good for brightening. Sit is lotus position or change sitting positions. Etc. Then, get back into mantra. If you still drift off. [I recommend] doing several short sessions 5-10 minutes. If you have a good session, stop. Take a one minute break, then do it again and again.

Seeking Shiva, Your awareness is Shiva. Your thoughts are Shakti. The mantra is shakti, the silence is Shiva. The silence is wisdom. Just brighten, tighten, freshen up a bit...

Love,

TMS

Hi Shiva,
David is right, you allow this phase and it will pass. The more you resist it, the longer it will stick around. So if, when you sit to meditate, you lose all sense of perception, go with it for now. It's a phase and will pass.

Generally it is a phase of deep purification and altho it may seem like you are asleep, you really have moved into a very deep level.

No sensory experience, no mantra, no thoughts, but still conscious
inside – were you asleep? Probably not. Meditation sometimes produces
a sleep-like state, like you described, but the physiological
parameters are different. The metabolism goes much lower than in
sleep. Heart rate and breathing are much slower than in sleep, nearly
stopped. The body and mind come to a state of complete silence, while
still awake inside. The level of rest in the body and mind in
meditation is deeper than sleep. It is a different kind of rest that
removes impurities; obstructions to consciousness that sleep cannot
reach.

Carson has pointed out the lessons, you can also look up these topics:

sleeping during meditation
