some people seem to believer that there are two basic feelings, fear and love. and that all other feelings revolve around this. so if it is only fear and love, if you desire a specific food what is that? Or if you see an attractive woman does that fall under fear or love to find her sexually attractive? thanks brother Neil
Other emotions are derived from those two. Your examples are around 'wants' and 'needs' which may still hinge around those two emotions.
Desiring a specific or having sex are part of the hierachy of needs. It may also be true that you want to feel loved by eating the food or being with the woman. Fear might drive you to eat the food otherwise you starve, or fear drives the instinct for pro-creation/having a partner.
Negative emotions are based around fear. Examples would be anger, hurt, guilt, anxiety and sadness.
