Hi Folks, A nun at the monastery where I learn turned me on to the Virmalakirti Sutra. It appears to be the oldest Mahayana sutra, and may be contemporary to the Pali Canon, written between 400-200 BCE.

I highly recommend people read it. It settles many debates we have on this site.
