The Eloquence of Enjoying
Dearest you who think you think
Has it sunk in
that the very fact
that you enjoy
the lavish lyrics of life’s libretto
the beauty of its tender touch
the strength of its subtle solidity
the vibrancy of its voice
the hum of its humour
the awareness pronounced in its articulation
the wetness of its willowy waters
the graft of its gravelly gutter
the love streaming from its silent face
Has it sunk in
that you
you who think you think
are
the capacity of enjoying
the capacity of experiencing
the capacity of illuminating?
How else
would you be able to enjoy
so effortlessly
that which is before you?
Has it sunk in
that the eloquence of enjoying
is itself that?
Granted;
you can think yourself
to be many things
But in enjoying......
How can you be anything but THAT?
