Hey everybody a long time lurker and practitioner with a family and not much time to jump in here too often. I really like everybody's conversations here.
A lot is said about stretching pulling twisting the tongue for kechari but what about the skill of bring the soft palate forwards? It seems that my tongue is long enough dexterous enough, but the act of bringing the tongue back also tightens and flattens the palate back? Any suggestions?

How about using your fingers? Both to push on the tongue back and/or pull the uvula foward. If you have a sensitive gag reflex this might not work, but it is worth trying.

Thank you contemplative. I haven't tried pulling the uvula forwards. How about some of those surgical clamps to grab it? Just kidding. Owww. I fell really close with this and my bhakti pull me onwards as well.

I have heard people using tiny spoons to do this. I have read this in the Mallinson book.

But, I would be concerned with sleep apnea and snoring.
