Jesus cast out "demons"/negative thoughts from people? if so how did he command these to leave. If we are holding onto something can we not cast it out? For some reason I am not letting go of something right now and would like to cast it out for I see it is not needed thanks i am love, i am peace, i am joy, i am your brother i am neil

Well, I guess in Jesus' case, just as with any other highly evolved being, the sheer presence of higher vibrations can disperse negativity. The wish for being released of negativity is however an essential ingredience for this to happen. Remeber however: being in the presence of a high evolved being can help you to get rid of negativity, but when that being is not present any more, the negativity may easily come back.
Also: too much concentration on the negativity is usually not helpful, it can actually attract that negativity more. Just let go. Replace that negativity with something positiv. If it still keeps coming back you will probably need to have a deeper look at it, there is probably a lesson to learn for you.

Hi Seeker, I don't know how much this would help but the best strategy I've found to deal with negativity is the Bhakti practice that I learned here in AYP. My understanding is that negativity has two components: A negative thought and some negative energy. Normally a negative thought when kept for a while will create some negative energy as well. When I find myself being afraid, worried or negative I remind myself that I'm only feeling this because I'm not enlightened. As soon as I do this I find myself being angry at my ignorance and this in turn will transform the energy into desire for enlightenment. It also stops the negative thought I was thinking so both componenets of negativity are gone in a matter of seconds. |
