I just watched this documentary yesterday. I found it really interesting. It's about Kim Peek, who has this absolutely amazing memory. This guy just plain loves knowledge for the sake of knowledge.
I almost cried for some of it. I'm not even sure why exactly. Not that I felt bad for the guy really. I felt it ironic, my journey is almost exactly opposite to his... though it's different and the same. It's like I could "let go" part of myself by seeing what he was doing as beautiful.
I mean, in a large part, the guy is stuck in his own world of thoughts and facts and relating things. He does his best to reach out, I thought it really beautiful, just seeing the "light" in the struggle. haha, i'm almost getting teary eyed right now.
I mean is enlightenment ending the struggle? Or just seeing the beauty in it? Are they the same thing? :)
anyway, here's the documentary. Enjoy :) http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=k2T45r5G3kA |

What a lovely film! I have to see the other parts!
I LOVE that man's laughter!
And what a siddhi... reading two pages in a book simultaneously, left side with left eye, right side with right eye.... in 8-10 seconds! Storing 98% of it in memory! Weeee! |

That really is an amazing story. What a life! The dedication of his father humbles this parent.
Thanks for sharing this. |

Thank you for sharing this, Devineis
Kim's father is truly amazing. The way he has always nourished his son....
Imagine....as he says it....taking care of Kim 30 hours a day 10 days a week......for 54 years.
No wonder his emanations are so tender..... |
