Ramana Maharshi suggested we investigate "Who Am I". Other sages suggest we investigate the "I am" or "I am that, I am". Yogani suggests we meditate on "I am".
I figured that the idea of all this investigation was to break down the illusion that is the ego and yet I have also read from some of these sages that the "I" is actually the ego. In looking at this with my intellect, I must say I find it a little confusing. This confirms to me that, in order to break through the confusion, I must, as Yogani says, rely on the inner Guru until I naturally break through all these concepts and touch on "the truth". Does this sound reasonable, or am "I" missing something? |

Hi Tam,
The first chapter of Yogani's Deep Meditation book is titled: "Who am I?" His discussion is conceptually simple, shifting the emphasis away from talking or thinking your way to the answer, and toward living into an answer by doing the practice of meditation twice daily.
Sounds like you are on the right track. |

An association to a previous post I wrote came to me as I read your post. Perhaps this one is of some kind of help to you:

In general it is very good to rely on the inner guru until natural break throughs come. |
