This guy is interesting. He has been training in India and on his homepage he refers to "real stuff".
What if this is a new trend among illusionists - to train to become a siddhi and then mix practices? It would surely help making people wonder about what is real or not!
Apparently, there's a metal plate under the mat and the guy sits on another metal plate and the stick connects everything. They put up a screen and get a few people in there to help him set up and take down.
It is a great looking effect, though. Too early to see people levitating in front of the White House. Give it another 50 years!
