I've been doing hot yoga/power yoga type of routines these days in the belief that you have to be hot to get flexibility benefits. I'm changing my tune on that, though. For the first time I'm finding that cooler is better... feels nicer and I still seem to be getting gains on flexibility. I'm holding postures for 1-5 minutes in a relaxed way.

I used to know karate guys who did stretching in a jacuzzi and claimed it helped!

I prefer heat from the inside. If you do strenuous aerobics, then stretching or yoga, flexibility will be much better.
