I have an aquaintance that claims to have been living in some sort of high frequency state (from his description is sounds very much like the state Katrine is describing - ecstacy, bliss and calmness, finding nothing wrong in the world). He came there rather quickly when he was young and stayed in that state for almost three years, but felt it was like having been determined to climb the Kilimanjaro and then got a free ride with helicopter... It was like something was missing, no fun - he felt it had been too easy.

So he started a long and troublesome road down again from those "hights". He wanted to be "normal", and when finally back to full ego functioning, he started to just live his old life again and is now walking the path more slowly.

Is this possible? Anybody know of someone else having done a similar thing? Can the kundalini shut down once awakened? Or how could his experiences be understood? Is it possible to come into a "false enlightenment" like that?

Hi EMC,
Maybe this thread will help you understand what he experienced and how he returned
Being There

Hey EMC,

Is this possible?

Yes. It's all about how you percieve yourself. If you think fairly positively and you have a spiritual mindset, and not much "karma", you will feel blissful etc. If you change that spiritual mindset to a worldly one, you can seem to change back to how you were before the spirituality.

Yeah, I've done it. It's really about where you aim. If you're aiming at enlightenment you'll be a certain way, aiming at nothing you'll be a certain way, aiming at things in the world..you will be that way.

Well, sort of. It goes somewhat dormant just because you aren't focusing on it much. But once focused on again, it's more powerful than ever.

It takes a while to get it to be inactive. A few months.

Yep. I like that term "false enlightenment" even though it's quite harsh to the supposedly enlightened one. But that's exactly what their state is - false.

It's not like what they had is bad or undesireable, it's just that they had further to go.

The state sounds like it might be similar to what Ken Wilber describes in his book Grace and Grit.

Basically he had achieved the samadhi state and perhaps more, which had been verified by Zen masters etc.. From his experience then with his new love, who developed cancer and died whilst in the beginnings of their relationship, he discovered a lot of unresolved issues.

He concluded that it was possible for the energy to travel up the spine whilst at the same time bypassing the second chakra(emotional). This gave all the signs of the enlightened state without having cleared his emotional issues.

I do believe that equipment that is normally activated at a later stage can sometimes be activated earlier on. I look on it though as 'just one of those things' -- not everything follows the usual pattern. You can still benefit from the functioning of the 'higher' equipment while you wait for the 'lower' stuff to be resolved.

It was like something was missing, no fun - he felt it had been too easy.

If he's saying though that he came down because it was too easy and no fun to have been up there, I don't buy his explanation. You come down to 'do the work', not because not doing the work was too easy, but because the work needs to be done.

It sounds oh-so-special and heroic to want to be "normal", doesn't it? But you don't come down because you want to be normal -- you come down because you are, whether you like it or not, only too "normal".
