http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inedia

Inedia is the alleged ability to live without food.

what is your opinion on the life of inedia?
some did sungazing and some live on prana.

I think it is fine to have a life of "inedia" in a moderate way
that means persuing the ability of inedia but still eating moderately everyday.
Maybe at least one time a day.

That way I think there will be a balance between food intake and remaining inerdic.

I think the healthiest way is the middle path.
some hardcore inedia believers die in the process of no food intake.
that is sad.

Hi N,
Yogani has talked about this in Lesson 167 - Q&A – Living on air and sunlight alone?

It's also been discussed briefly here sun gazing

hi thanks shanti
the link helps :)

yeah the basic stuffs are still important.
I think I wont force things just to achieve inedia result.
Maybe it will come naturally as by product.
However, a minute or 2 of sungazing wont hurt :)

Hi Nameless,
and welcome to the forum.
I believe it is possible to live on Prana alone. Many people can do this and are doing it already. Scientific studies have already been carried out on people who have stopped eating, and the only thing they can conclude is that these people no longer eat. These studies have been carried out involving teams of scientists under very controlled conditions.
However, what is questionable, is the degree to which this is a spiritual practice or not. By this I mean, whether trying to live on prana actually helps our spiritual practice or not.
Sri Aurobindo once said:
quote:
"The ability to live without the need of physical nourishment is a rusult of having attained the goal, not a means for the attainment of that goal"

Eat healthily, and enjoy your practices!
Christi.
