in the capacity to consume
the debt in illusion pertains
values placed on rarity
yet what is needed is more space
abundant like air skywards we fall

towards the normal glittering lights
the exchange takes its place
but nothing remains in the hand
only empty gifts wrapped in want

passing through the ways and byes
a hurried throng awaits a feeding mouth
a tongue that never stops to wag
come hither and buy the blinding darkness

seeing enough is never enough
so i turn away and be on the way
like a wayfarer here but not to stay
wandering inside and out never to belong

Kumar ul islam, This is a very powerful poem. I like it quite a bit. I went back and read some of the poetic respones you gave to my questions last year and I experienced deeper meaning. Your capacity to go deep into ideas and feelings is a gift. I look forward to returning to this poem again.
