Some observations on healing:
Healing is letting go of resistance(s). Saying yes to life or any emotions that arise is by definition healing.
Observing without resistance is healing.
All pain/ suffering is saying no to experiences and emotions of some kind. Saying no to fear is by definition resistance
Saying no to any undesired emotions that arise is again resistance. Resistance and avoiding are temporary at best. Resistance and avoiding intensify undesired emotions which will continue to arise periodically until embraced.
Unwanted emotions can be stored in the body for a finite period of time and when severe and/or chronic, can manifest as physical illness/ malady of some kind.
Truth, honesty and openness are forms of letting go and healing.
True focus on others is healing as there is no self in those moments.
Balance = being perpetually open to and observing without resistance all that arises in life = continuous letting go.

Spot on, Anthem.
What you resist persists. Very simple, takes some practice to totally get it.

What you're describing sounds more like acceptance, which is certainly part of healing, but not necessarily healing itself.
If I say yes to emotions or sensations of pain, and accept that they are moving through me, that is good, but healing may still be a little distance away. In other words, acceptance can come during the healing process, but doesn't necessarily mark the completion or fulfillment of the healing.
I think healing is the mending of a wound, eventually resulting in the dissolution of pain, in which all that remains is homeostatic bliss.
Acceptance (non-resistance) can happen instantaneously, whereas healing often takes more time. If healing occurs instantaneously, that is more of the super-normal variety (siddhi). Of course, acceptance can take plenty of time too, so they're within the same spectrum, as you have alluded to.

Or maybe our true self is finally being revealed when we can unite with others. |

Healing happens all by itself if we love ourself the way we are, that takes time and practice for most of us
Thank you Anthem |
