I believe it does. Both are referring to a passive, unattached watching.

The witness state is one of being actively engaged yet detached at the same time, this also beomes stillness in action you will run into this term too.

When this becomes your daily normal mode you have liberation before you are fully liberated, it is a good life and a good way to live.

It does not mean being totally zoned out or uncaring.

AYP practices will help you understand by doing them you will become this way, it is good.
