Hi all,
I practice Pranayama at irregular intervals. I am currently in every
day mode. It works so well, that I know I can't not practice...but I
usually become afraid after several months as the energy starts
rocking my body while I am working and I find I am needing to
disguise the action. HMMMN, how to go beyond this?

Try spinal breathing to smooth out and expand the energy (lesson 41),
and meditation to build inner stability and take it all deeper
(lesson 13).

Practicing as in the lessons (spinal breathing follow'd by the mantra)
seems to clear all this up if not just cut back on the time for the
spinal breathing. regular practice seems very important.

I would strongly emphasise regulat daily practice even if it means
that you need to cut the time back. 15 minutes of pranayama twice a
day is a really good pranayama practice and if you need to skip one
practice, say if you are tired in the evening that is fine. I was
taught that irregular pranayama practice can do more harm than good
and really, having energy rushes may be fun and interesting but
developing grounding and integration in the practice is much more
important in my opinion. It is great that you are practicing, now
focus on daily consistancy. Do not miss a day, ever, Thats what I was
taught. then if you miss one day a year or so it will not hurt but
that is the kind of regularity that I am talking about.

Dear Deborah,

One antidote for shaking/vibrating/etc. is to lay
down, palms up, and to be at the 3rd eye, then inhale
SO from the 3rd eye up to the crown point, 10 of your
own fingers back from the 3rd eye, then exhale Humm
back to the 3rd eye...repeat

Namaste-
Ashwin
