If my heart could explode into pieces
I would let it
Then I could stretch out into the atmosphere
as a multitude of fragments
Touching every essence of life in my path
Grasping for nothing in particular
Because I would be going in so many directions.
But alas, I am but one body
For a time I am limited and at the mercy of these desires
That keep knocking on my door, begging to be fulfilled
and they won't go away until they get their way
And I am them, and not them, and they are me, and not me
And in between the thing-ness and no-thing-ness I have found some peace
Thank God I have found some peace
Because since I can't be torn apart and distributed
I have to stay whole somehow
And I don't wanna tell you I'm going to be courageous
I just wanna be courageous
And I don't wanna imagine I'll merge with my destiny
I just wanna be merged already
I guess I can stop my whining
After all there's so much beauty
But note my intensity, won't you please?
And grant just one big wish for me, that's all, I promise.
I'll pass the test
I won't fail
I'll surrender completely and never look back
And this poem will be just a faint memory of absurdity
And maybe I should've kept it quiet
Deep in the secret space
Quietly being born
And once born, it would be so easy to proclaim the victory I've already won. |
