I loved reading this and wanted to share with AYP. In fact, more accurately, I'm just beginning to read this, love it so far, and wanted to share with AYP. He has an inspiring way of writing. His advice various from the profound (realize the Self) to the extremely practical (good conduct with others). I believe he was also Nisargadatta Maharaj's guru.
Siddharameshwar Maharaj:
"The purpose of human birth is to obtain our full potential. Instead, people involve themselves in various things that jail their attention. They waste this priceless human body. Anyone for himself must prove that he is nothing but Stateless, Formless. This understanding brings the fulfilment of the life, the ultimate peace. To live according to this purpose is called to be the spiritual aspirant. Find out who are you and behave accordingly. You are all pervading without quality without shape and you are not entangled in worldly life. Realize your Self and be what you are."
"You must know by sincere observation the people who are in your contact. Listen to them carefully so you can understand what they want, how they think. Only if you are attentive, if you are present without your inner dialogue, you can understand others. Generally people find fault with others by looking at them with fixed point of view. You must stop to have a firm point of view; the best is to not have any opinion about anything. Rather, make effort to understand another’s point of view. Understand that all “points of view” are concepts, wrong concepts in relation to Ultimate Reality but they are used in daily life, they are base of people’s understanding and consequently their attitudes and finally their actions. So undertake a lot of thinking to understand the position of others. Not seeing another point of view generates conflicts."
