I enjoyed MTCTB more for Ingram's take on the overall process, than for the Buddhist specifics. I'm still learning about all these specifics (Advaita, Nagarjuna), and do not consider myself a Buddhist at all. But I do share Ingram's sense of humor and healthy cynicism about things in general. It's easy to get caught up in all of this and lose one's sense of humor (at least it is for me). MTCTB helped ground me but also gave me some insight into things that weren't clear, like the differentiation between concentration and insight practices.

I'll check out that other book, thanks.
