Yesterday I had to call out the emergency vet and my beloved cat was given an injection to euthanise him. I had had him as a kitten and he was 15 and a half years old. He was a great companion and accepted me exactly as I am, which was really important especially back in the early times. My husband and I are heartbroken and it seems the house is full of reminders that catch at my heart. I learnt a lot about love from him. Am just feeling so so sad

Sorry to hear about your loss k123...Working at a vet clinic, I understand your feelings and having a beloved cat of my own. Fifteen years is a great amount of life and I am sure he enjoyed every moment of it with an owner so caring. Your sadness is a bittersweet reminder of how much you loved and cherished your little companion. I am sending you Love and Hugs [img]icon_heart.gif[/img]

Projecting love, acceptance, and healing to you and your husband, k123. Words do little to comfort in times of personal loss, but know that we are holding you in our thoughts and prayers each and every day.

Love to you. My poor little cat's liver and kidneys are starting to fail, but she's lived a good life (15 years about), and for now is ok. But I don't think she's got long :-(

wishing you love and consolation.

Thank you Josh, I understand as my little cat had the same problem and had stage three kidney failure. I had been trying to persuade him to eat and he wouldn't touch the prescription food, mind you I can hardly blame home it looked awful! He also had to have tablets which he didn't like and so on and so forth. He was frail and thin and it was hard to tell what was old age and what was illness. Then Tuesday he got very ill suddenly, with colitis the vet thought.

The grief has hit hard and it feels like everything in the house holds reminders of him. Such strong and uncomplicated love, we are broken hearted.

I wish you well and send love

Sorry to hear k123. Cats, like other pets, can be great companions, who really get to know you and respond to you in kind. He surely knows or has sensed what a lucky cat he's been for all those years.
